Mercer Farm Ltd (MFL) is a private Kenyan-incorporated company proudly rooted in Embu County, Kenya.
Our Location
Our physical office is located at:
KCB Building Embu, 1st Floor, Office Suite 104, Embu, Kenya.
Strategically positioned to the south of Embu County along the Embu-Kiritiri-Kanyonyoo Road, MFL neighbors the iconic Kiambere Hydro Dam. To the north lies Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest snow-capped mountain, known for its three majestic peaks and unique location on the equator. The snowmelt from Mount Kenya nourishes countless rivers and streams, serving as a vital water source for households, agriculture, livestock, and wildlife across the country.
The Challenge We Face
The impacts of global warming are threatening Kenya’s natural resources at an alarming rate. Some of the challenges include:
- Rapid melting of Mount Kenya’s snow due to above-normal temperatures.
- Depletion of rivers, streams, and underground water tables, leading to:
- Reduced capacity for irrigation farming.
- Declining forest cover.
- Increased early deaths of livestock and wildlife due to prolonged droughts.
- Inadequate rainfall.
- Lower income levels for farmers.
Our Solution: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities
At MFL, we are committed to implementing sustainable, forward-thinking strategies that directly address these challenges.
